Is Al Gore the Answer?

"If it goes into the convention, don’t be surprised if someone different is at the top of the ticket,” he told a Florida newspaper, adding Gore could be that choice.

Check out these articles that speculate whether or not Al Gore would be a 'compromise candidate' if Obama and Clinton enter a brokered convention:

Does this remind anyone else of Santos vs Vinnick from NBC's The West Wing?

Anyone else thinks if Al Gore nominates himself from the floor it will make the party look like a circus? Anyone??

i miss my car

so i rolled my window down the other day. it was sorta nice weather, my car was a bit stuffy... seemed like a good idea. wrong.

the glass came off the track and fell down inside the door. the window had come off the tracks before and I was able to fix it, no big deal. this was not the case at 4:30pm Monday evening. I frantically called every shop I could in the athens area. most places don't operate on volkswagens, so already this was a challenge.

i was refereed to shop, apparently the only shop in athens, that works on my car. he seemed like a cool guy and not a condescending jerk that i always seem to get when i call mechanics. because he's the only volkswagen shop in town, his schedule is booked for weeks. yay for me. i didn't know what to do with a car and no driver-side window! the mechanic offered words of comfort: "at least we don't live in detroit where your car would get jacked." ok, not liking him anymore.

mike the mechanic graciously allowed me to park my car in his garage so it would be safe and secure. he would try to have it finished by thursday. ugh. almost a whole work-week without a car. i live over a mile from work. its about a 25min walk. i timed it.

i miss my car. i hope mechanic mike calls soon.

update: mike the mechanic called. my warranty does not cover everything. i have a $100 deductible and they only cover 2.2 out of 3hrs of labor. so i'm still out roughly $160. and the car won't be ready until tomorrow. ugh!!!

i have one day...

i'm giving myself one day to be upset about hillary winning ohio and texas. then i'm moving on and getting back to being excited about Obama for America.

i went to the obama website and saw this video. gave me goosebumps. a good sign. afterall, we're still winning in delegate counts! in a campaign email, they project Clinton only took 187 delegates last night with Obama taking 183. while its a blow that she won 3 out of 4 states last night, the delegate count still gives me HOPE.

taken from brittany's blog:

The genius of our founders is that they designed a system of government that can be changed. And we should take heart, because we've changed this country before. In the face of tyranny, a band of patriots brought an Empire to its knees. In the face of secession, we unified a nation and set the captives free. In the face of Depression, we put people back to work and lifted millions out of poverty. We welcomed immigrants to our shores, we opened railroads to the west, we landed a man on the moon, and we heard a King's call to let justice roll down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream.

Each and every time, a new generation has risen up and done what's needed to be done. Today we are called once more - and it is time for our generation to answer that call.

For that is our unyielding faith - that in the face of impossible odds, people who love their country can change it.

was she playing flip cup?

the only time i've ever drank beer out of a red plastic cup was either at a keg party or while playing flip cup.
